Rose in a Garden
This project is a high detail 3D modeling project focused on organic form, material detail, and lighting. The piece explores how subtle variations in shape, texture, and light contribute to realism and visual softness in digital environments.
The rose was modeled in Autodesk Maya, with petals constructed from planes and shaped individually to create natural variation. UV maps were edited in Photoshop to develop custom textures, while the stem and leaves were built using edge loops and textured directly in Maya. Lighting and reflections were achieved using an Arnold SkyDome with a sunset HDRI, emphasizing translucency and depth within the petals.
The final composition was completed in Photoshop with a garden backdrop, balancing realism with a painterly atmosphere. This project strengthened my approach to organic modeling, UV mapping, and lighting, while deepening my understanding of how small structural decisions impact the overall emotional quality of a render.
