Subatomic

Subatomic is a dialogue-free experimental film exploring horror through mood, texture, and visual storytelling. Created collaboratively with Sarah Fils, Sabrina Wang, Hazel He, and Kline Gareth for a Hypercinema course, the project focuses on atmosphere and ambiguity rather than narrative resolution.

Shot throughout New York City using green screens, studio lighting, and department equipment, the film captures the city’s grimy and grotesque undercurrent. Urban spaces become distorted and unfamiliar, using light, framing, and pacing to create a sense of unease. The visual language is intentionally fragmented, allowing discomfort to emerge through suggestion rather than explicit action.

I contributed to direction, ideation, camera work, and post-production editing. Subatomic is designed to disturb quietly, leaving viewers with an unresolved and lingering sense of ambiguity.
