Ephemerality
Ephemerality is an original audiovisual performance exploring perception, impermanence, and transformation through immersive sound and reactive visuals. The piece blends live music, physical computing, and generative imagery to create a transient, introspective experience that exists only in the moment of performance.
Created while learning Ableton, the sound design layers ambient textures with breakcore and techno influences, built from original pads, custom drum programming, and live effects. At the center of the performance is a handmade Arduino controller housed inside a glass vase with LED flowers. Soldered buttons and potentiometers are mapped for real time audio control, turning the physical object into both an instrument and a visual symbol of fragility and change.
The visuals were built in TouchDesigner and driven by Max MSP, responding dynamically to sound and performance gestures. An original poem structures the emotional arc of the piece, guiding shifts in tone, rhythm, and intensity across the audiovisual system.
Ephemerality reflects a period of experimentation and growth, bringing together music production, physical interfaces, and generative visuals to explore how meaning can exist briefly, then dissolve.
